Creating a New Wallet

Creating a New Wallet

When users select Create Wallet from the welcome screen, they are guided through the wallet creation process. This is an essential step for anyone who is new to the PortPay Pro app and wants to start managing cryptocurrencies.

Key Steps in Creating a Wallet:

1. Generate a Wallet Seed Phrase
  • After selecting to create a new wallet, PortPay Pro generates a Wallet Seed Phrase (a series of 12 or 24 random words). This seed phrase is vital for recovering the wallet in case of device loss or failure.
  • Example seed phrase:
“cram calm rice sure crouch female address agree physical foil belt glad
2. Copy the Wallet Seed
  • Users are encouraged to copy the seed phrase and save it in a secure location. This step is critical as the seed phrase is shown only once during the creation process.
  • Users can click the “Copy” button to easily copy the seed phrase to their clipboard.
3. Confirm Wallet Seed Saved
  • Before proceeding, users are required to confirm that they have saved the seed phrase by checking the box that says “Confirm Wallet Seed Saved”.
  • This step ensures that users have noted down the phrase as it will be required for wallet recovery.
4. Password Creation (Optional)1
  • Users are prompted to create a password for added security. Although password creation is optional, it is recommended for enhanced security, especially when accessing the wallet regularly.
  • Users need to input the password twice to confirm and can view the password by tapping the eye icon next to the input fields.
5. Finalize Wallet Creation
  • Once the seed is confirmed and the password (if created) is set, users can complete the wallet creation process by tapping the “Create Wallet” button.
  • After the wallet is successfully created, users are taken to the dashboard where they can start managing their crypto assets.
