Merchant POS Page Overview

The Merchant POS (Point of Sale) feature in the PortPay Pro app allows merchants to handle cryptocurrency payments in a seamless and straightforward manner. This feature is available on both Android and iOS devices and provides merchants with the ability to generate payment requests quickly.

Key Features:

Transaction Fiat Selection
  • The Transaction Fiat field allows the merchant to select the preferred fiat currency for the transaction. In the screenshot, the selected fiat currency is US Dollar (USD).
  • The available currencies can include major fiat options such as USD, EUR, etc., and the amount will be converted into the equivalent cryptocurrency for the transaction.
Fiat Amount
  • Merchants can enter the Fiat Amount they wish to request from the customer. This value represents how much the customer needs to pay in their selected fiat currency.
  • The system will automatically convert this amount into the equivalent cryptocurrency (based on the current exchange rate) when generating the QR code.
Transaction Note (Optional)
  • Merchants have the option to include a Transaction Note. This field is useful for adding additional information, such as the purpose of the payment, customer reference, or any other relevant details for record-keeping.
Generate Request QR Code
  • After entering the fiat amount and optional note, merchants can tap the “Generate Request QR” button to create a QR code that the customer can scan to complete the payment.
  • The QR code will contain all the necessary payment details, including the amount to be paid in cryptocurrency, the receiving wallet address, and any associated transaction notes.
  • This QR code simplifies the process for customers, as they only need to scan and confirm the transaction on their end.
Bottom Navigation Bar
  • The bottom navigation bar on the Merchant POS page includes the following icons:
    • Home Icon: Takes the user back to the main dashboard.
    • Calculator Icon: Possibly for quickly calculating conversions between fiat and cryptocurrency.
    • QR Code Scanner Icon: This allows the merchant or customer to scan a QR code for payment purposes.
    • Settings Icon: Opens the settings page where merchants can configure their account and preferences.
